I don't see any reason why a 10 year-old who lies repeatedly, adds nothing of merit to topics and purposely tries to cause problems with other members of the site should leave or be banned.

While I may not agree with "his/her" opinion on many topics nor subscribe to "his/her" abrasive mannerisms, I will defend "his/her" right to express "his/her" opinion. I also generally choose to ignore topics started by and posts by "him/her" and those related to banning and/or asking "him/her" to leave.

 

Someone tried this about 2 months ago did they not? Did not work then.......

Yes. He brings a consistent and cloying negativity to the forum that's hard to look past. I wonder if this serves to discourage other forum members from posting. It certainly serves to monopolize our attention.

During the couple of weeks he was gone, the quality of posts went up--and the forum was a much more pleasant place to be.

Time to go. IMO, of course.

 

I dont see what the big deal is . I mean I dont agree with hardly a thing he says , but I take him for what he is . Someone who enjoys stirring the pot ....how far can I push somone ? And he only does that with his opinion , theres been exceptions , but for the most part he can only be guilty of preaching his way out there opinions . Its everyone else that causes it to escalade from there and hes gonna have a reply for every damn reply you can throw at him . I personally dont give a rats *** what anybody else thinks about me , so if he were spend a whole thread about how buying a cobalt is the dumbest thing anyone could do , or the fact I was an idiot putting a LS1 front on my LT1 TA I dont feel the need or desire to back up my decisions or opinions to someone who's obviously against you . If more people had that thought process , he's almost be a non issue . Who gives a F*ck what he thinks .

Message boards are not democracies; no one has a "right" to post. You'll find **** disturbers in most forums and they're usually tolerated to a point for comic relief and to keep things moving. Also, admins are reluctant to appear like dictators by banning those with which they do not agree (not that it helped me ), otherwise people may go somewhere where they feel less censored. But having said that ... I always thought the 5th gen forum was a little different than say the Lounge, maybe a bit more mature and less accepting of trolling. I guess maybe not.
