See ya Chris Preuss!! See you in your next life -NOT- automotive!
Linda Marshall, who worked for GM CEO Dan Akerson at Nextel Communications, will become president of OnStar on Feb. 1, GM said today in a statement.
Akerson helped recruit Marshall to join OnStar in November as head of global business strategy and development. She provided wireless expertise to an OnStar team led for 11 months by former public relations chief Chris Preuss, who is leaving GM to be a communications consultant.

Na-na-na-na...HEY HEY HEY...GOOD-BYE!
One of the absolute WORST PR people to ever come from GM. I knew he wouldn't last long at OnStar as soon as I heard his ideas.

Oh...you're back? It was much nicer when you were gone. When did you get out of jail?
Anyway, it should be a pretty seamless transition to Onstar for someone who was in the upper echelons of Nextell.

Preuss tried to make OnStar a PR company for General Motors which it never was.
By the way, thanks for the welcome back, I guess
But...Jail?! But I am glad you find the time to make several of your 136 posts here about me. I always appreciate the stalkers.

Seriously...WTF is with all of the personal mud slinging lately? How the hell does anyone think this is the place for it?

(hopefully the statue of linitations has expired)
If you didn't, then lets keep the personal swipes to messages, mmmkay?

You must have been watching us do doughnuts in a Pontiac Solstice in the hotel parking lot late, late night before the Camaro concept unveiling 4 years ago (which by Russian.... or Irish... or Australian standards, we both were perfectly sober).

By the way, Guy, that was FIVE years ago, not four. Hard to believe, eh?

Jason, I made no personal swipes here on anybody. I was simply stating my opinion as somebody that is "in-tune" with the automotive business and know what I've seen and have experienced first hand by Chris Preuss.
I think Mich84 is the one that deserves the questioning for personal attacks. DUI's? Jail? Implying both here apply to me? I believe that's a pretty clear personal attack, and one from somebody who hides behind an Internet identity and a keyboard.
With that said, Chris Preuss was given OnStar because GM was not yet ready to show him the door. As soon as Preuss was given the reigns he immediately injected his "GM" DNA into the company and it was being ran as a part of GM, when it shouldn't be.
OnStar was making commercials featuring GM cars in an attempt to tie it to the brand. OnStar is viewed by the public as a good brand, product, etc. Incase people here don't know, or believe, GM is not quite the golden company in the publics eye as it once was. OnStar was being thrown into the mix and its reputation was taking a serious hit.
To credit Preuss with the creation of Google Maps, the new aftermarket rear-view mirror/kit available to many aftermarket cars is foolish. Those were done long before Preuss took the reigns at the company, yet he tried to "wrap" OnStar as being part of "New GM" which was a mistake from the beginning.
I'm anxiously awaiting seeing what the new leader of OnStar can do, as mentioned they're also the next GM CEO.
By the way, I've had 0 beers as of this posting....and havent for quite sometime. Incase Mich84 was wondering.

I wasn't referring to your posts in this thread. I was referring to Mitch but in general...there have been too many personal shots in the past few days.
All I am saying is that if there are personal issues between folks here, it is unfair to air them out in public here when they are only between those involved. No one else has anything to do with them and don't need to see it here.
