You might want to wait though... The Scion reps told us at the Winter Bash that they're working on another supercharger that is going to put about 300hp to the wheels... Warranty supported.

Expect the TC supercharged with all the factory performance upgrades (actual performance upgrades.. not the shift **** and pedals, battery hold-down, oil cap) to be around 21k and possibly more with every upgrade you can get.
Re: Scion to offer factory supercharged version of tC coupe this spring
My dad's got an xB, and I think it's real nice. Dust sticks to the dash though, lol. We got the first one around here. I plan on buying an sC tC in a few years used. The tC doesn't have the controversial looks of the xB and xA(although that's just a mini-matrix, I think is fugly), I think it looks damn good, and the interiors nice, too. The xB is very roomy, and a good car for the price, but it is SLOOOOOW. Very annoying. Although I'm still used to my 98 Z since I haven't had anything faster since...
I'm sure the tC and Cobalt will be on a fairly equal basis power and handling wise.
BTW- If a dealership can bolt on a supercharger and still be on warranty, I guarantee you that engine has PLENTY of potential left. People are already putting down well over 300hp reliably on aftermarket turbocharger kits.

Ill take the all forged supercharged ecotec with superior handling Cobalt SS over the SC'ed tC.
Recent review in either MT or C&D was not to kind on the handling and feel of the tC. I belive it came in 4th out of 5, Behind the Mini, Mazda3, and Sentra, and beating out the fantabulous new Focus.

Which is why I'm hoping that they'll do more than a simple power adder if they want it to be true "sports" compact. The current tC isn't that sport-oriented.

The dealer installed supercharger kit for the Matrix/Vibe 1.8L 4cyl adds "up to 30% more hp". Perhaps something similar for the Scion?:

Re: Scion to offer factory supercharged version of tC coupe this spring
Yeah, I was impressed that Motor Trend had the guts to rate a Toyota 4th out of 5...hell officially froze over that day. I still find it comical that their long term Camry that blew a head gasket at 19k "must have been a fluke...." ***holes...
The tC looks decent on the outside, but that dash is hideous...period. I don't know who decided a couple pods thrown on top of a flat dash pad was a good idea, but whatever. Superior materials, maybe...but who cares what its made out of if it looks like crap? Car mags haven't liked the handling much, either, claiming "scary oversteer" or something to that effect. Apparently the cornering just isn't up to par.
Nice looking car, decent car for the $$$, apparent Toyota quality, but far from the be-all-end-all of sport compacts. Give me a Cobalt any day...Scion may be somewhat sportier outside, but at least the dash won't make me puke, and it goes through the slalom at 69 MPH

I also think it will be faster and still handle better.
