415 RWHP!!!!

And if you don’t believe me ask Scott. He drove it to the GTG and I asked him what it dyno’d right afterwards.

That’s amazing! LS2

I don't doubt you personally, but either the dyno was off, or the car wasn't stock. The engine makes right around 400 hp at the crank, so I really don't see how it could put down MORE than that at the wheels...

That would indicate over 450 hp at the crank, and the LS2 is NOT making 450 hp.

Could be underrated, like the SRT-4...

I tend to agree with 96_Camaro_B4C. Either the dyno was off, or the car was modded. Were those corrected numbers? What was the correction factor used? Almost all reports coming in on the LS2 are around 340-355 RWHP...

HIGHLY doubtful. Especially when you consider the LS2 GTO dyno's and the times the c6's run.

There's NO way that it'll make anywhere near 415 at the wheels. Either the dyno was off or that engine wasn't stock. Only logical explanation i can come up with. Realistically, Ls2 should be in the 350rwhp range.

I know it was stock, but im not sure about the dyno machine itself. But coming from the f-bod father, I'll believe it.

I can say the first dyno run messed up. They down shifted and it spiked to 458 hp on the computer.

I’ll post a picture in a few.

Well come to think of it when I did ask Scott he didn’t say rwhp. He may have been referring to the crank. But here is a pic anyway.

FWIW, with that dyno the only thing you're going to get is RWHP, unless they had some sort of formula to calculate the HP at the crank minus accessories.

But if Scott said 415HP...

Maybe you should explain to the doubters who "Scott" is.

I think most of us know who "Scott" is....but we also realize that 415RWHP out of a bone stock LS2 is NOT realistic...

I know who "Scott" is, and I also have watched LS2s run on ENGINE dynos at the Tech Center in Warren. Heck, I even ran one or two myself. So, since the car is stock, either the dyno was off, or more likely Scott misspoke or was misheard, OR he saw the RWHP number and did a quick back-calculation into flywheel in his head before the question was asked about how it ran.

One need only look at the C6 Z51 performance numbers (about the same as or slightly slower than a C5 Z06) to know that it is NOT putting down 50 more horsepower than an LS6 car.

For all the doubters , let us not forget that for 01-02 LS1 F-bodies it was not uncommon to see 300-315 RWHP .Thats been proven time and time again . The great LSx output saga continues , lol . 8th wonder of the world why 2 out of 10 are slower than normal , 2 out of 10 are absolute freaks ( good kinda freaks ) and the rest are about where they should be .

I've never seen a real owner post a time better than 13.0@110 stock.

No where near as fast as the last gen Z06 where real owners were running 12.2-12.3@115-117

The car dynos a legit 400hp (rwhp + 50hp drivetrain loss) but it just doesn't translate into performance at the track. As far as the 415 at the wheels, I agree the car was modded, the dyno was off, or it was flywheel hp.

FWIW, if somebody's goal is to fudge dyno numbers, it doesn't take much to achieve this! If you have a moment, take a look at how I was misled (to the tune of 38 RWHP) by a certain party who is (thankfully) no longer affiliated with ARE! ... all it takes is to put a portable heater beside the dyno's temp. sensor!
http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/512022/10
At the same time, I would like to publicly state that IMHO, whatever grief has been caused to customers of ARE in the past by this particular individual, is being dealt with in an extremely responsible fashion by Nick Agostino, now that he is back in a "hands-on" position at ARE (now a division of Auto Worx).

Best regardSS,

Elie
