Saw a new Yukon yesterday
With reports of GMT 900's popping up on lots, I decided during my lunch hour yesterday, that I was going to see if I could find any. Sadly none were to be found on my local GMC or Chevy dealers lots.
However later in the day while leaving work to go home, a brand new Yukon Drove right past me going to the back area of Walker GMC. I must say, its a nice looking vehicle.

I just saw one in the process of getting taken out of an enclosed delivery truck in middle of the backroads where I work.. are they even out yet? was wondering if that was another press car.. (spotted a Solstice a while ago that was being reviewed for a magazine) and there is a GM office right across the street.

I saw a truck-load of Yukons and Tahoes this past weekend. Not bad at all, but from a distance they look alot like an Expedition....
If in the market, I'd take a much closer look, but our '04 Avalanche isn't going anywhere anytime soon!

Re: Saw a new Yukon yesterday
The commercial for the 07 Tahoe that was played during the superbowl said "Coming January 10th" (or something like that) which I found to be a pretty big oversite for such an expensive ad to announce when it was 'coming' instead of it already being out.
I've been seeing more and more of them recently but haven't had the opportunity to sit inside one yet, much less drive one. Actually I'd rather not drive one until they get the 6-speed and HO 5.3 setup right. Until then I'll feel like I'm only driving half of the new Tahoe and half of the old one.
Oh, and as a side observation... January 10th 2006 and this car is coming out as a 2007??? Come on now. Call it a 2006.5 and then call it a 2007 when they get their new drivetrains or something.
Launching a 2007 model in late 2006 is already questionable enough but it's getting to the point now that we were only 10 days away from a 2007 vehicle being launched at the end of 2005???

I too kinda want to wait for the 5.3 HO setup with 6 speed auto to be available before I really seriously consider trading in our Av.. although I don't plan on doing that either... since I'm waiting for a new Camaro..

Re: Saw a new Yukon yesterday
What 5.3 H.O. are you guys talking about? The engines are 4.8L (290 hp), 5.3L (320 hp, volume leader), 6.0L (350 or 355 hp), and the 6.2L (380-403 hp, depending on if its in a Chevy/GMC or a Caddy).
The big change will be when the 6 speed autos go full range instead of just the 6.2L engines, but what would be the point of a 355 hp 5.3L when there is a 355 hp 6.0L? I think during the rumor mill times about the 900, the number 355 hp was thrown out (turns out to be right), but for the wrong engine (5.3L vs. 6.0L).
I've not heard anything about a 5.3L H.O. ...

Saw a Tahoe on the road. They look great! The front looks pretty mean too. I want to see a cop version now. Be a lot cooler than the chargers people were bragging about a little while back.

Whether they were both the same or if either was related tot he 5.3 displacement, I'm not sure...
Ditto.. actually, I'm fine with the engine, I just want the 6 speed auto.. You can have low tow gears, but still not sacrifice tall cruising gears..
