Question Saw new Cavalier yesterday

I remember the pictures of the new Cavalier floating around. Actually after seeing those I didn't think it woud be too bad. But after what I saw yesterday, I've changed my mind.

I didn't think i'd see one for a while, but I was at Williamsburg, VA yesterday and there was a red one in the parking lot there. I didn't have my digital with me so I wasn't able to get any pics. Instead of looking mean and aggresive or maybe even ho-hum, the front end makes the car look like it's depressed. I mean really down in the dumps. Around back the plasticky looking silver bar on the trunk lid just looks cheap and chincy.

I hate to add to the let down feeling and I really had my hopes up thinking maybe GM could deliver in the sport compact area...oh well, I'll keep my hopes up for the next new car down the line...

Yeah, the new Cavalier really looks dumpy. So does the new Sunfire as well. They both look like fugged up Saturns.

I saw the new sunfire a few days ago, and it is very ugly. The lheadlights look really messed up.

Being that I live by the J-Car assembly plant, I see the new ones pretty fast... sometimes before hand with MFG plates.

Anyway, IMHO, the Cavalier front end is OK... at least it's a change. I do not like the new rear end though.

I think the Sunfire looks A LOT better than before.

This is all just a short term patch until the new model comes out though...

Either way, though, a freshening was overdue as the MY2000 freshening for both car was hardly even noticable.

Interiors are almost identical...

I think seat fabric and a steering wheel change are about it.
