Saw for myself why Z06 seats get worn out so quickly
So I was at the Texas State Fair today at Scotts invite to attend the local Camaro clubs annual show there. Saw the cars, got the poster, took the pictures. I wandered over to the exhibit hall next door where the fairs car show is going on. I find the AO Z06, and GET IN LINE to sit in it
. I'm in the batters box, the guy in the seat gets out, and just as I'm about to sit down, some kid from the passenger side that I didn't even know was in the car starts climbing over the console to get in the drivers seat. I'm thinking "You little snot nosed..... if you were my kid I'd....." By now he's squating down in the drivers seat, his nasty shoes on the seat bottom, when dad comes up... I'm thinking, "Ha, now the little ***** gonna get it
. Dad says "JUNIOR!!" (cant remember actual name), and I'm thinking "here comes the pain", and dad says "you know you're not supposed to sit there". So junior climbs BACK OVER the console, shoes on seats, on the console lid, on the parking brake, and DAD CUTS IN FRONT OF ME AND SITS DOWN!
Well, at least I understand where he gets it from....
Anyway, they leave, I sit down, drool, and get out, the line is now 8 deep. I did happen to catch the Lexus display, didn't see any kids who's parents were letting them stand in the Lexus' seats.
So anyway, I saw it w/ my own two eyes, the Z06 just gets flat out abused at car shows. Don't know if that has anything to do w/ seats wearing out, but you could certainly tell why things would start getting f'd up w/ everyones paws all over everything ever minute the thing is on display.
Also of note, the Camaro Concept has a nice big ding in the right front wheel well arch. Scott said it had already been repainted once, looks like its gonna need it again before too long!

Un-attended kids are what killed any enjoyment at Detroit last year
Damn near everything I wanted to see you had to wait for the pack of wild dogs ...errrm, I mean kids to get done playing inside .

Yeah, I was surprised at the cool display inside the Ren Center ... and the Z06 only had a ~1 to 2 person wait!!
