Saw my 1st F150 today. 5 in 1 morning!!!
Today I saw FIVE new Ford F150s. Not together, but in different areas of LA over the course of this morning!
They didn't seem to be manufacturer's or press' vehicles. 3 had regular California commercial plates, the other 2 seemed to have normal Cali new car windshield registration. I was under the impression they wern't coming out till next month? If these were regular buyers, then seems the new F150 will be selling like crazy!
The exterior seems about as big as the Dodge Ram (especially when one's barrelling down on you on Route 22 in Santa Ana!), and the thing that stands out is how squared off it looks. The bed seems like someone cut the top off a box. The exterior also gives the air of being solid & well made, though a bit conservative next to a Chevy.
But seeing that interior is something else. The one I peeked into seemed to be a base or low level model. It's still a looker, and far more refined than you'd expect in a truck of all places.
If the interior is as well made as it looks (I got to look at it while it was stopped at a light, and I was waiting to cross the street), GM has alot of work to do on their truck interiors.

I've seen plenty of them around here already. You know... Texas and trucks...
I was driving around some dealerships last weekend and all three Ford dealers I went to showed them right smack in the middle of everything.
Didn't see too many vehicles stored at the lots, though, so they are probably just starting to come in.
I didn't bother looking at them more than taking a glance as I drove by. Looked pretty bulky and boxy, but I guess that's what the trucks are all about today...

Georgia people love thier trucks too but I have yet to see one. I didn't even know they were out or began production either. I will have to keep a look out and make an opinion.
On a related note...........when does the new Silverado come out?

HAHA funny thing you mention this GuionM yesterday me and my cousin went to the dealership and checked them out because when I was driving to work I saw it and at first I thought it was an Expedition and didn't think much of it, however when I saw the rear I almost didn't believe it. You are right about the size it looks as big as the Ram (It was right next to a current F-250 and the 250 looked smaller) I know there will be many on the streets here in Houston.. being that this state is the Truck capital of the world... Go to the parking lot of a football/baseball game and see what I mean...
But the thing that really gets me is I've been driving around all weekend. But today, it seems they all showed up all at once!
I saw more '04 F150s today than I saw Escalades or Avalanches that have been out for a couple of years. That's no small feat out here in LA!

Drive around here for an hour and you will see Avalanches and Escalades in the triple digits.
The other day on the 210 I saw a pre-prod/prototype H2 with the Avalanche/EXT style short bed. Had michigan dealer plates and the tailgate looked custom fitted. The back part was another color than the rest of the car too, looked funky.

I wonder what kind of sales records Ford is going to set with this truck.
I wonder what Chevy/GMC's thinking.

As I understodd it some dealer here were not delivering the trucks to owners just yet and they were holding them on lots for displays as there are not that many running around.
PS on a side note there is a sticker on the windshield that reads "Norfolk plant quality" or something like that. Interesting they put that I don't recollect any other plant doing that.
