Saw an 05 stang...eww

I was on my way home from school today and i finally saw an 05 Mustang.......FUGLY!!!!!!!!!! I thought they didn't look to bad from some of the pictures i've seen even though i didn't like them anyway but this thing was ugly. I took a good look at it, didn't like it at all.

I'm sure the camaro's will be back in a couple years or so, it'll be like a rerun of the 60's in a way. The mustang came out with their pony car and GM/Chevy responds with the Camaro and the Camaro's are a big hit. I gotta feeling the same thing is gonna happen, their retro stang comes out, then our retro camaro comes out and its a repeat of history....i think... The Camaro's were a more popular car when they came out weren't they? We outsold them if i'm right? Anybody got #'s?

Mustangs outsold Camaros from 67-69. In '67 Mustangs outsold Camaros by over 2 to 1.

That said, if a new Camaro comes out in '07, we should hope history doesnt repeat itself.

edit - had a grammar error... in '67 Mustangs did outsell Camaros by over 2 to one.

Market is a bit smaller then it was in the late 60's, but one thing is for sure...we will not see a retro Camaro.

i think it was the SCCA. About the number of sales though, maybe its good in a way that we don't outsell them because that means our cars are rarer. And i'd rather be King of Performance than King of Sales. And if u think about it in this way, GM outsold Ford, GM had the Camaro's and the 'birds, i know they had different motor options but it was basically the same car so some of the chevy sales went to pontiac. Maybe since there will be no more TA's or birds we'll get more sales on the chevy side. Either way though, i just want another Camaro, especially after seeing the new Stangs. I want our fight, i know the ford guys are loving their new cars but us GM guys are still waiting for ours. I'll never go to Ford no matter what. If no camaro ever comes back then i'm gettin an LS2 and swap it into a first gen.....or at least i'll try.

Does anybody know exact dates on when the Camaro's began and ended production. If i'm right, it ended on August 26th or 28th or something....or was it September?

Saw my first one tonight parked outside the movie theater. Car looks decent to me, makes the sedans around it look boring.....

Who cares, Mustangs are ugly, slow, and the main thing FORDS. I wish all of them would have a defect and blow up.

Re: Saw an 05 stang...eww

I test drove one last night. I sat in the car a week ago but could not test drive it until they got others in. It was a white GT with interior upgrade and pretty much everything else. It was an auto. I love the look and the interior. I was not impressed with the acceleration. From the 13.6 1/4 numbers posted, I expected much more. My 6speed 01 z28 would put it to shame. I will go back and test drive the 5 speed when they ge one in to see if its any better.

It might be hard to guage the acceleration of these cars using the butt dyno because the modular motors are no where near as torquey as the GM pushrod competition.

True. Many say the Lt-1 *feels* faster than the ls-1 f-bods, but we all know that isn't the case.

Soon, we'll have tons of times from mags and enthusiasts now that production has started and the cars hitting streets.
