Re: saturn sky production photos
I'm fairly certain there will be a five speed auto available as well. I believe it is the 5L40/45 shared with the CTS sedan. I don't know if it will have a manumatic gate or not on the Solstice/Sky turbos.
From what I've heard, some of the guys who have driven both the manual and auto actually prefer the way the auto drives in that car. Apparently it is nicely matched with the power/torque of the turbo 2.0. Or maybe it was mainly because they didn't have a lot of seat time and they kept hitting the rev limiter in the manual (because the engine moves toward redline pretty quick in the lower gears).

I would think that theory of yours is pretty good about banging the limiter... I can't see an automatic being more desirable in a car like this even if it has "fake manual" mode.
Re: saturn sky production photos
If I could take the inside of the Saturn and the outside of the Pontiac, I'd be all set
I can see why the Saturn, comparably equipped, will cost about $1k more...the interior alone is worth it. The Pontiac is fine, but the Saturn appears to be NICE. After driving a Solstice, I think its an awesome little car. I'd be interested in one as a daily driver, maybe, if I didn't own a house...but I'd be hardpressed to give up my Camaro for a Solstice (or buy one over a 5th gen, for example)...
