Good afternoon, Camaro Comrades and Firebird Friends…….

This weekend, we’ll celebrate the Memorial Day Holiday in honor of those men and women who served our country well……..they fought to give us the freedoms we take for granted every day.

That means record numbers of people will be on the highways.

Please……if you’re driving this weekend:

>Wear your safety belts…….that goes for EVERYONE in the vehicle…every time, no excuses

>If you’re going to drink, please give your keys to a designated driver. Not only could you injure or kill yourself, but you could injure or kill other innocents.

>If you’re getting tired while driving, pull over and take a quick break…get some coffee…….or – here’s a tip – have some hot soup…..it will give you the pickup you need.

>Cell phones are great. But if you need to talk, pull off the road into a safe area. I don’t care how good a driver you think you are, talking on a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle is dangerous.

>No street racing…..EVER. Take it to the track.

And…..watch your speed. We design our cars to be safe…however we have not figured out how to overcome the laws of physics…and as you can see by the attached, high speed collisions can be fatal as well as catastrophic.

Enjoy the weekend with your friends and loved ones…and if you happen to be going to the 8th Annual Fbody Gathering in Atlanta, I’ll be looking for you!

Most young people don't drive this reckless, but enough to affect insurence rates for us other buyers (in addition to the personal loss to those left behind).
