WHY does SAAB need a WRX?

Are they making the sedan version too? Station Wagons suck.

I think it fits perfectly with the brand. A turbo 4, awd, and the hatchback configuration.

BMW and M-B both have AWD station wagon... don't see why it's so bad that Saab does too...

Could this be similar to that Nomad rendering we saw last week?

It's more in keeping than you think. The original Saab 99 and 900 had a longitudinal engine placement, just like Subes.

The big question is whether the 9-2 is "moose-proof?"

Pretty sure just wagons. The 165hp and turbo 227hp Linear and Aero variations.

I think they're a nice fit for the Saab brand and adds excitement and interest to those who would pass it over otherwise.

Man, I'm disappointed. Its a styling rip off. 90% of the public will think its a WRX look at it from the side, especially from a quick glance. I'm going to have to give Saab a thumbs down on this one.

Looks good.

IMO the Forester XT 2.5 Turbo motor would be a more logical upgrade than the WRX 2.0 ...I'm sure there's a perfectly good explanation why they went the way they did though.

I was browsing more pics and now I think it even looks more similar to the WRX. Theres nothing wrong with having a AWD wagon, I wish Saab would have just dont it more origionally.

The problem is that the Impreza wagon (marketed as a hatchback in some European markets) has a very distinctive shape. If GM intended to do this sort of "platform sharing," they should have done it with the next model cycle. As it is, the "9-2" will probably offend rabid "Saabists." After the Vauxhall Cavalier based 900, the dull 9-5, and the Ecotec powered new 9-3 how many Saabists are left?

This car's future will be decided by how cheap it leases.

Yeah, I suppose youre right. I just expected something more along the lines of the F-bodies, where even though they were the same platform they were easily distinguishable.
