Road and Track: C6 Road Test

Anyone see this yet? Its in the September issue.

Just a quick rundown of the stats:
0-60: 4.8 sec.
1/4 mile: 13.2 @ 108 (blame it on a damp track and the 89* weather, 76% humidity)

slalom: "limited space at the track" prevented the test
skidpad: .96g

60-0 braking: 119ft
80-0 braking: 204 ft

Overall they praised the car. Its one of the few domestics they really like. The only other ones I can think of that get constant praise from the magazine are the Ford Focus and Caddy CTS.

In contrast to the Top Gear video, they said this, "While the C5's Interior had a distinct Camaro feel, the C6's is a huge step forward in fit, materials and style."

Re: Road and Track: C6 Road Test

C&D got a 4.3 0-60, 12.7 @ 113 1/4, 0.98g, 166 70-0 braking, and generally really liked it (this according to my brother; I don't have the issue in front of me).

In the same issue, they did a comparison of the Hemi 300c, the Bonnie GXP, and the Ford Crown Vic ( ). They finished in that order, both in ranking and at the strip.

But the interesting thing was the much more appropriate and realistic (imo) times for the Hemi:

0-60 in 5.9
1/4 in 14.4 @ 99 mph

Enjoy...

BTW, Road and Track tends to have the slowest times of most of the big magazines (but the best photo spreads). I think MT and C&D both got 4.3 and 12.7 for the C6...
