Question Ritter leaving Chevrolet/GM. Effect on 5th gen?

While the jury is still out at Chevrolet to what the effect of Kurt Ritters leaving Chevrolet/GM is, i'm personally very concered.

I know Red has mentioned to me how Kurt was an advocate for Camaro. It will be interesting to see what happens next and how Chevrolet changes.

If anyone was a moving force behind getting Camaro (as well as RWD) back to Chevrolet, Ritter was the guy. Although even as head of Chevrolet, he didn't have a say as to what did or didn't get produced (that was strictly GM corperate level decisions), he did push, prod, & schmooze it towards production. If stories are to be believed, he even got Bob Lutz to make it a "next" priority after the current vehicles in the pipeline get towards production.

I haven't heard anything about the new guy, and IMHO it was pretty crappy moving Ritter to Pontiac-Buick-GMC.

He obviously felt the same since he jumpped ship within a matter of weeks after it was announced.

I too felt that Ritter was a friend to the Camaro. His move to Pontiac-Buick-GMC was perplexing to me. Was it a promotion? It didn't seem like it to me.

If it wasn't a promotion, GM really screwed up (again).....no wonder he left.

Losing Ritter would certainly seem to not be a help to a future Camaro.

At least when he was moved form Chevy, he may have had a similar impact with a Future Firebird, or even had some pull with Chevy after his move...

But, now that he is totally gone, that is one very loud voice that will not be heard calling for the return on our cars.
