Unhappy RIP - James Hartzell: He created "the best automobile commercial ever made"

How many times have you heard "baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and Chevrolet". Well, the guy who wrote it has passed away. The article mentions that some consider his commercial the "the best automobile commercial ever made".

I am currently sitting in the company building that he worked for (and for all I know, in the same building or even on the same floor) when he wrote it.

For the record, I didn't say that he wrote "the best automobile commercial ever made", the article references it. I fixed the link.

As far as cultural and brand impact, those commercials aren't even close.

RIP sir.

See the link in the first post, there is one video that has some of his content in it along the right columns if you scroll down a bit.

One of my favorites. He just followed the K.I.S.S. principle. That's why people who saw the original in the 1970's can still recall that jingle today. It was like the hook in a pop song, it just stuck with you. R.I.P.
