Exclamation Return of the Supercharged Ford F-series pickup....last month!

Did anyone else miss this??

Ford didn't even wait for the 2008 model year to bring back a supercharged pickup.

After showing off an aftermarket version of the pickup at a Las Vegas trade show in November, Ford gave the project the green light. In April, the 450-horsepower 2007 F-150 Harley Davidson edition truck was available.
5 months is an amazingly short time to bring out something like this even though the powertrain was done even before Coletti retired.

Wow very cool.

Does this mean a new lightning can't be too far away?

Pretty cool but I can get just over 400hp out of a Sierra Denali and it doesn't perform all that great. I doubt the extra 50hp in this is going to do much - especially since IIRC the F150 is usually heavier than the GMT-900s... or is it not? Count me out of the 'excited' column until they offer this motor in a more basic standard cab 2WD truck.

i had heard about it, because our dealership has had 2 of them, but i really didnt get all that excited. I kinda doubt it is a performance orented truck like the lightning, but then again maybe it is . I just assumed it was a dressed up f150 with a blower bolted on the old 5.4.

I don't think thisis the same exact drivetrain. This package was developed by Saleen.

This could be considered a stopgap until the Lightning comes, if approved. It isfar from a done deal from what I hear.

5 years ago that 390hp meant something.

Only in places like SVT brochures and at the rear wheels.

I agree, that is alot of pound to haul around. If they could offer that powertrain in a smaller, more performance geared truck, then I think they might have a head turner there.

Ford may have wanted to keep this one quiet so that the greenies and gas-consumption police don't take up residence outside HQ in Dearborn....

You mean the supercharged previous-gen body style? Why didn't it make sense? IIRC, They ran about 14 flat in the 1/4-mile and were just some tuning and pulley swap away from 12s, right? Plus they were 'relatively' inexpensive compared to what this Harley truck will without a doubt cost.
