Is this a retro cue that we might want?

A new poll to start off the week.
Who here would be in favor of the "fish gills" (not sure of their real name) coming back on the 5th gen? I'm talking about the indents that appear right before the rear wheel on the 1st gens.
So what do you think?
Would this be a good trait to bring back (compare it to Mustang's little scoop)?
Or would it be better left off for a more clean look on the new Camaro?

If they're functional, yes!
if not... then probably not.

(if functional, they'd be directed to throw air at the brakes to cool them off)

Like M said, if they help cool the rear brakes, then absolutely. If they don't, then no that is too GTish.

I don't know about the gills specifically - that would depend on the design of the car. I do know that I would really like to see some retro details. I'm not at all saying I want a Mustang type thing, but I think some nice touches really go a long way. I even like, for example, the fact that the GP GXP has Trans Am type fender vents. Little details is what used to make GM cars better looking than everyone else's designs. Let's bring that back definitely.

Small old school touches would rock. Just little things.. maybe the gills if they fit the design.

Actually the "fish gills" you're referring to were only on one model year, 1969. 1967-8 Camaros didn't have them, and no Camaro has had them since.

IMO, "retro" sucks!

Yes, but the firebirds sorta had something like this. And firebirds are just as 1337 at Camaros.

Firebirds had them at the front in the rear of the tire, though
