Report: Cadillac to offer Duramax V8 diesel in CTS?
#16
In my opinion, no car needs a V8 diesel. It absolutely is overkill. And yes, those reporters do not seem to have much regard for torque - they're only interested in HP, which is a rather skewed way of looking at engines and performance.
It would be great for the CTS to offer a diesel to be competitive in Europe and other places around the world where it is sold. Here, it could be a welcome addition for some people, and a 6-cylinder diesel would more than suffice. As some have already mentioned, 250HP and about 400 lbs-ft of torque would move the CTS effortlessly and provide great fuel economy.
