Doesn't really surprise me. GM makes something that some of us might actually like (or even buy) and the can it! I figured either that would happen or it would sticker at $35K+!

Apparently, GM has had so many requests for info on it....that they developed a form letter explaining that the reg. cab didn't exist....and directing them to the extended cab, AWD Silverado SS.

I really do not understand this move... you wouldn't think it would cost much of anything to do a regular cab version when the extended cab is already on the market.

Come on Darth. We've just had a whole bunch of threads describing this syndrome.
If Chevy releases a really cool, really fast content limited model......who will pay another $15,000 for the loaded "ultimate" model.
If true, all this proves is that Chevy does not see a market for a truly fast pickup. If they have no interest in building a true Lightning/SRT-10 competitor it's no loss to you or me. We just go to the competition, right?
Just some notes: I was talking to a good and awesome friend I acquired at the local dealership, we were talking about Impala SS supercharged, Z06 and this extended cab SS. He said the Silverado was a big f'ing piece of joke, to quote him precisely. This is coming from a guy who is one of the best sales people I've met and he's no young lad.
He told me to come and drive it one day. Said it doesn't feel fast OR powerful. And that is a truck that costs freaking $53,000 CDN. Just add $10,000 and you can get Corvette C5 coupe with all the recent rebates.

Some very welcoming news on the SS. Hopefully, the engine will be a warmed up 8.1L

Not a chance. The AWD system doesn't leave enough room for a big block.
