"Rebate" on the 2005 Corvette already:

Someone posted this on Corvette Forum... I read it a few other places too...

"GM has announced a new loyalty program as of January 4th through January 31st of 2005. You must have a GM vehicle in your household with proof of registration to qualify. Any 2004 or 2005 Corvette delivered during that period qualifies for a $1,500.00 cash incentive."

I can understand the 2004 model, but I am surprised about the 2005 getting the rebate... kinda goes back to my thread a month ago or so about there being so many 2005 Corvettes available on dealer lots, and how that was not the case when the C% came out in 1997... or 1998 for that matter...

Re: "Rebate" on the 2005 Corvette already:

i don't think it's a big deal
i mean 1500 back on an already 45k (in some cases more) car
just another way to bring those "unsure" people into the showrooms

Re: "Rebate" on the 2005 Corvette already:

That plus my GM card points.....hmmmm....

Nah. Maybe if I didn't have a baby on the way and didn't plan to have kids in the next 5 years, then I'd be willing to hand over $40K+ to GM over the next 5 years.

$1500 isn't much of an incentive. I think its a way to say thanks to GM customers w/o giving away much margin on the car. THe $6000 rebates have to stop and soon though. Just price the car right to start with...

I'd just consider it $1500 in mod money.

I agree , that it's not "much' of a rebate out of a 45k plus car. Still a sweet offer though.

It's not a rebate for everyone. It is only for current GM customers. Looks like a good deal, maybe it is to stop price mark-ups????

Its not just for Vette's either. Just think about the price of an 04 GTO with the extra $1500.

They have a decent lease offer on an 05 SSR..only $499 a month.

An interesting perspective... and maybe someone finally found a way that might help curb dealer gouging!

Of course, I suppose there is nothing stopping the dealer from selling it $5k over sticker and taking the rebate off that...

well, i can just see the dealer negotioations now.... toiling over the final price... and when you finally agree on the number, seeing the dealers look on his face when you go, "great, now I want $1500 off that price since I already own a gm vehicle"
