Re-did my concept ...grill-less

before

NOW ....took away the grill and made some changes . Too much like a 4th now ????

and , since the Malibu was so boring , I did a midsize too . The said car is a hatchback 4-door .

The Camaro design would fit in todays market . Dont know bout 3-4 years from now .

THAT might be one of the best 5th gen Ideas Ive seen so far.... It's pretty fresh, but is an evolution...

I'd think the 3rd gen guys would like that look too...

I think that is a fantastic starting point.

It screams CAMARO!

Funny, because it looks very much like something that could be build on the CTS/sigma chassis. Sort of has that caddy art& science edgy look to it.

The 1st drawing is more retro looking, 1st gen style.

The second drawing evokes a 3rd gen feel to it with the flat angular nose panel...which considering the popularity of the 3rd gen lines maybe isn't such a bad thing.

Great work! I see more 3rd gen than 4th (which from my perspective is good). I like 'em all.

I love it. New looking but yet retains Camaro cues. Nice work.

I think I'd like the first one more if you dropped the grillwork just a little lower on the nose (it looks too high). The second one looks too much like a modified third-gen. Its a nice sketch, but not "new" enough to be the Gen-V.

Best 5th gen concept yet! That said...

I think squared is the right approach to the lights. Overall the car looks like a third gen with a fourth gen scoop, though. I'd like to see it with a flat hood, with a bulge to those slab sides and maybe narrow the lights if you do another one.

If you took the more rectangular (wider) lights and put them on the first one so the top grill streched from light to light you'd be rockin man. I like the grill one overall better though I really love the look of those lights though, they're mean as hell.

Great drawings!

My two cents would be, since the best selling Camaro's were late second generations (the '79) a slight throw-back to their styling would be more appealing?

Mainly the larger upper grille, and smaller lower grille.
A more aggresively pointed nose.
Hood scoop,
True rear spoiler.

Some other cues may be overdoing it? But I'd still Like to see front quarterpanel slits from the first generation. Possibly functional brake cooling ducts.

I also love what seemed to be the front (and rear - exhaust outlets) bumper scoops from the Silverado SS. Very very nice touch.

Another thing that comes to mind is a front lower valance that protrudes out from the car. As (again) on the '79 but perhaps more modernized into a functional air foil for downforce - a racey Trans-Am cup car look.

I think you are on the right track though. The edgy lines of the Cadillac art and science theme seem to be the look of the future.

You have excellent talent, and I think we all enjoy your abilities and efforts, thank you so much.

Awesome! I definantly agree, it looks fresh, but is an evolution.... The cut lines look awesome.. Those headlights and that nose match perfectly.. The slghtly stubbier nose of the ls1's, but with the meaner looking lights and lines of a 3rd gen!

In your picture, It appears to have shorter overhangs, espeically in the back.. If they made the car just slightly overall shorter than the current 4th gen, but reduce the rear overhang a decent amount and the front by a bit, give a real trunk in the back, it will be a killer!

Although looking at the SSR and the SS concept, Chevy seems to want to go back to more of a rounder look....

Which would make this Camaro the black sheep of the family..which I think would be just fine..

I think GM should hire you! No joke!

Being the Third Gen spokesperson, I can say I like this concept alot better, basing it off of the Thirds is a good idea, (I saw the 90 you used to have. ) But you didn't put a Camaro emblem. What I'm not feeling is the little colored circular lights that look like something an import would have and the unecessary grills with parking lamps in them right next to the grill that has those again importlike driving lights. Those little triangles in each headlight pocket have to go, and it could use GFX that go all the way around the front and not just the sides.

More suggestions: Rear quarter panel crease more like 1st Gens, slightly higher spoiler, something like plexiglass over the headlight pockets, and smaller rims.

Yeah. Your Malibu looks about 1,000,000,000 times better than the existing one, or the concept.
