R&T Revisited
R&T Revisited
Just got the August R&T. Before anyone goes off about the search function, yes I know there was a big to-do about it earlier, but I wanted to start a new post, most speciifically so that the pictures weren't present (at least initially).
Why? Because like many (most?) I thought it looked horrible; until I saw the actual pictures from the magazine. For some reason the scan makes the car look much shorter and taller, same with the Challenger picture btw.
The picture in the magazine is like night and day to me. Whereas the scan made the car look like a radically Americanized TT (a car which I hate the styling of) the actual picture shows a semi fastback coupe of, dare I say it,"stunning" proportions.
Instead of short and bolt upright, the picture looks far more like a modernized third gen stance, with obvious heritage from the 67-68 model. However, unlike the 'Stang, which looks like a modern 66-67 fastback, the R&T image looks like a continuation of the '60s styling as it MIGHT have transpired over the course of 40 years. Much as the 911 did.
Yes, I know that to some people this is not a startling revelation, but I was so surprised by how differently I viewed the concept once I saw the actual print version.
I understand that this is only a R&T guesstimate, and that in fact we have no concrete evidence if or when the Camaro might return, though I do believe the hints that the god of war has dropped are a good sign, but if this is representative of what the actual design MIGHT look like, I'll take mine in blue with a 6 spd PLEASE! SOONER THAN LATER MSSRS LaNeve, Lutz and Wagonner.
James (now officially excited about January)
