Question for the guys whoknow
Question for the guys whoknow***UPDATE***
Are the 2004 GTO out yet.If so i think i saw one driving down the road going in oppsite direction of me but couldn't get a good look.If so that is one sweet ride.Pictures that i have seen dont do it any justice.
I seen that car again today. But this time we were going the same direction.I caught up to it.It was Lumina SS.That is one sweet car.I wish they would sell it here.Or do they somwhere.I talked to him for a mintue at a light and then we went heads up where i left in the dust.

Since you're in Arizona, you may have seen that California Grand Prix GT. It has hood scoops, a spoiler, and does in fact look sweet (too bad it's FWD, or I would have been looking seriously at one).
GTO is taking it's place (as IZ28 said, it ain't out yet) this fall.
I'm debating weather to get in line to get one, or wait for Mustang, or go with "other" options. Next year's Auto show will be my determining factor.

Chevrolet Lumina SS is what the Holden Commodore SS is called when exported to the middle east or other countries where the Chevrolet name is still used (Caprices were once extremely popular in the middle east because they were very durable. Holdens also are extremely durable...Impalas are not).
Being that GM-NA's new RWD sedans are due out within 3 years, Holden's new Commodore is due out within 2 (on the same chassis we'll have here), It's probable that the Lumina SS you saw was more than a little significant!

The only Lumina SS I know of in the states is the one mentioned here - http://www.corral.net/forums/showthr...hreadid=253332
but this one isn't silver...

The one i saw was a little different. The only differnce would be the grill. It was like malibu or impala grill. It had chrome peice going threw the middle with bow tie in the middle of it.But eveything else is the same as in those pic above.
It's the new, updated Chevrolet Lumina SS, made by Holden from the Commodore. It's has alot of the (US friendly) improvements made on the latest edition Monaro/GTO. Although it's primarily made for the middle east, and no announcement or hints have come out, it's very likely to end up here as well (briefly or as a limited edition) IF there are no issues with Holden's ability to actually produce enough of them.
Being that Holden WAS intending to export the UTE as the El Camino (a thank you is owed to the US's 25% Tarriff on imported trucks
), this car is next in line.
For those of you who want to see what replaced the B-body in the middle east, and what Al Harrison saw, here ya go:
