Question about '08 Bullitt
There won't be a prototype unveiled. Just the production.
I'd guess it would be shown at one of the Mustang events this later summer. Even if it isn't, it should be on the road in less than a year.

I don't get the Bullitt thing it was just a car used in a movie and certainly not the top Mustang for '67. I mean did Ford even know that they were going to use that car in the move? I don't think the Stang in the movie even had posi?
Oh well why not work on the Boss, Mach 1, Cobra Jet or GT350 or something more meaningful to classic Mustangs instead of a movie car? I don't get it and with Fords sales maybe they don't either.

I like that Ford can create new special models. Why does every version of a Camaro, Mustang, or Corvette have to be a remake of a special model from the 60's? Does it really matter what Bullit was in the 60's?
I see your point too and I'd be all for a new type Mustang with something that we've never seen before.
It's been kinda neat owning a special edition car (that's actually in many real ways special - not a tape and stripe job) that isn't flashy or particularly expensive. Most people don't understand them or what's really different.
But Ford did say they weren't making any more, basically, if not specifically. And they'll probably put a decent engine in it this time (The cobra was NA in 2001, so no 4V love from FOMOCO). That, and now I have a baby and a mortgage, so I won't be out for a new one.
IMHO, I still think it's the best looking mustang made since 1970. I put my deep dish wheels on it and it looks badass, even if it's slow by 2007 standards. It'd be nice to actually drive it once in awhile. I just hit 27,000 miles, I think.

Bullitt is easy to do and well recieved. Just raid the GT500 parts bin for some brakes, give the same engine calibration, cold air and exhaust from the Shelby GT, throw in a 3.55 gear, spoiler delete, maybe some painted 18" bullets, tune the suspension (or just nab some more parts from the FRPP bin) paint it green, blue, or black, slap on some Bullitt stickers and puff... let the magic happen
