Production Challenger in less than a year

http://www.newswire.ca/en/releases/a.../13/c7883.html

"Riding a wave of fan anticipation, a new clock will be on display along
with the Dodge Challenger concept car to count down to the unveiling of the
production version of the car at the Chicago Auto Show next year. Today, the
count-down clock shows 358 days."

jeez..another 2 years?!

It's gonna be my mid-life crisis car by the time it comes out...(not really I'm only 20 but it feels like it's taking forever)

I know, I know...all new platform and all that jazz but I just want my 500hp monster now!

The downside to a running clock is that you can't have any delays. If people are looking forward for a year and then the date slips, it'll be bad news.

I think GM is doing it the right way. They'll get their stuff together before putting a date on it. I'm predicting it's going to be earlier than we think.

The only thing the date means, is that the production vehicle will be shown. GM I'm sure has the production version of the Camaro already done, or close to it.

Just because Chrysler will show the production Challenger, doesn't mean it will be available to purchase at your local dealership 24 hours later.

Well, you'll probably see an Impala concept to...uhh..distract you?

I actually have April 2008 as the SOP date for Challenger though. Seems weird they would debut it in Chicago and not Detroit.

I would care more if it were a clock counting down the days until the production car hits the dealerships, not the next auto show.

Add 45-60 days to that clock, then. Seriously.
