Production 2011 Ford Fiesta Five-door pics
The last rental I had in the UK was a Focus. It was a 5-door, manual, gas-burner. It was also a basic rental car - no frills, no bells, no whistles. As start as it was equipped, I was still pleasantly surprised at the quality of the interior components and materials. Switches felt great, seats were firm and supportive, door panels were better than average for plastic and vinyl. Overall, I was impressed with it for a bottom-feeder model.
This image is from a German version (note the LHD)...

When you jump up to the current BASE Mondeo unit, it looks a bit better yet...

Then have a peek at the new Sport model's interior...

I'm predicting that the American market will be pleaantly surprised with the new cars coming here from Ford if they will simply hit the "copy" button and not screw with the recipe while it's en-route to our shores.

I think the interior and exterior look great on this car. I hope Ford can get a 40mpg hwy EPA rating, if so this car will sell like crazy. Much better than the Aveo and Yaris.

After looking at the new images even more - I think I like the new 2010 version even better than the 2008 version that I rented.
It really is pretty slick looking! I hope the feel and materials are on-par with the visual quality. If so, these cars will be good sellers here.
Just hlding my breath that Ford doesn't go with cheap materials and crap to offset the costs of bringing it here. The ones I linked to earlier for the current models are just great. Surely they wouldn't fubar a homerun that is already off the bat... would they?!?!

Looks really nice. I'd definitely consider it if it was going to be here a year sooner so long as it got good mileage for a low price and was well built.
BTW my door lock button is in the center of the dash... has been that way for a year now and I still fumble around looking for it... I guess because I don't use it all that often.

US will probably get the 1.6L gas engine only, but this site is saying it should have an EPA combined rating in the mid to low 30's. That means hwy will probably be in the low 40's. 30/40mpg maybe.
