Who knows?? The other guy ran a 13.3. Idiocy is such a stupid thing. At least it made it down the track without breaking. So far.

Even the Cobra boards are calling BS on this guy for his trap speeds. You'll notice his story changes from him going to a local track, to actually going with a friend and G-tech'ing the times.

He is excited about his new car, rightfuly so. I think he is just trying to get a rise out of all the Viper owners.

I think it was listed you would need nearly 500 HP at the crank to move a 4,000lb car that fast. I don't think this guy is telling the truth.

No, he has time slips from the track. After all the hoopla, he went out with a buddy who has a radar gun and ran it. 115 at the end of the 1320.

He also ran it on his GTech.

The general consensus is that the calibration at the track was wrong on the trap speed. This is hardly unheard of at tracks.

His good times could be related to the track itself. Houston Raceway Park is 10 feet above sea level. I believe English town is right at sea level. You typically see great times cut from these tracks. Typically you'll see a little over 2 tenths difference from the Texas Motor Plex in Ennis TX versus HRP in Baytown TX. Anything's possible.

Now if the guy ran up in Denver and rans those times, Ford really really underrated the car or he's quoting 1/8th mile times

I guess I will post it hear to.

My brothers coworker just got out of training on the 03 Cobra. The official word from Ford is the hp is supposed to be 430hp and has the cobra R suspension. They also put the most restrictive exahust they could find on the car. One being so it is quiet, damn law makers, second, Ford feels that this car has the potential to hit the 11's, and Ford cannot be liable, nor sell a car that can do 11's in the 1/4 mi, so they put a exhaust system on that would rob all the power.

There is a post going around the corral where someone put a pulley, K&N air filter on the car and chipped it, and got very very impressive numbers from the car. Then there is the exhaust that can be done on top of that! Actually, I think everyone was saying its being written in the July or August MM&FF magazine.

Also, it was being tossed around on the site that an 03 cobra with slicks has been seen going down the track somewhere and breaking into the 11's. Unfortunately no other info than just that. Most people were saying it was stock, less the tires.

As I said in November (some of the testing was done out this way) the 2003 Cobra's advertized horsepower is underrated.

Your right buddy! You've had it right since day one! This is just the official claim Ford is teaching their techs. Ford will still advertise their 390hp to cover their butts.
