I hope it looks like the GXP concept from before - with the nose and tail toned down slightly. Also the nose has to be a direct swap to the the other G6s.
I've driven the 3.9 for a while, its good to hear that GM is able to get respectable power out of the 3.9, it is behind the competition. The 6-speed badly needs to be matched to the engine. 3 overdrive gears != performance. Suprisingly they don't equal fuel economy either, and the GTP's 18/26 will likely drop with more power. This engine must have DoD if they hope to be competitive with Toyo/Honda (each ~20/30). Any guesses on the price if it is released?

I this thing AWD? I would hope it is. Wasn't the original GXP concept an AWD turbo 300hp car? That would be one hell of a halo car. Are there any pictures of the old G6 GXP concept, or did it never get to the design phase?

GXP concept from SEMA has a DOHC 3.6L and is FWD

new york is shaping up to be huge and exciting. i have to ask this question because I'm used to GM disappointing me, is this the car/news you've been referring to guion? pretty sure it's not. it should be on a much bigger scale than this.

edit: Doesn't that seem like an eternity from now? When I was young, I never thought I would even live until 2010...

Re: Pre-Production G6 GXP to be shown in NY
Hope they pull a GP GXP and give it more juice before releasing it. That would put a safer distance between it and the Altima SE-R. I also hope they did some suspension mods. I want this thing to crush the Altima. That's what Pontiac needs.
Re: Pre-Production G6 GXP to be shown in NY
1) Exactly how many GXP concepts is Pontiac going to show us before they actually build one?
2) Why was the G6 concept exponentially better looking than the production car?

Re: Pre-Production G6 GXP to be shown in NY
1)few dozen more and a couple clinics and I think they will knock it up and water it down enough for release
2)boggles the mind.. concept=best in class looks... production=just another car
