Pontiac G6 concept

Check out the Pontiac G6

Could this be the GrandAm replacement?

Looks pretty great! (much better then that LA Malibu) Now if only they put a decent engine in
it---and no, the 3.5L 190hp V6 doesn't cut it.

What, no ribs??! Well, no one will confuse that with the GTO. I just hope the GTO doesn't look too outdated once all these new Pontiacs show up on lots. I guess the GTO will be refreshed in a few years. Anyways, good looking car.

Very nice looking car. A coupe version would look great imo.

That is a beautiful car. Has a lot of Solstice in it, which is a good thing IMHO. I like the roofline and rear end especially, even without a spoiler, even though I am very partial to spoilers. I also like the wide stance.

The G6 is really nice. I bet it will be the basis for the next Grand Am. Lets hope they make a 2 door version.
Certainly looks way better than the upcoming Grand Prix. Both inside and outside. Somebody butchered that car.

That is a nice looking car. I'm so glad that pontiac has lost all that cladding, the current grand am (up to 2002) base model looked terrible.

BUILD IT. I love that front end especially, with the silver deep recesses and the character of the headlights.. it looks really mean, yet really classy. Build it, please, and do not water it down!

Here are 2 older sketches, interior & exterior, and a short description under it.. All-Wheel-Drive!

http://www.cardesignnews.com/news/20...concept014.jpg

"The Pontiac G6 concept is a four-door, four-passenger car with the look, feel and attitude of a sports coupe. With its supercharged V-6 engine and all-wheel-drive capability, the concept is a driving machine that reaffirms Pontiac’s performance heritage. It carries forward the clean bodyside and detailing introduced on Pontiac’s Solstice concept roadster. Like the Solstice, the G6 has a voluptuous, curved profile highlighted with a sharp crease running from front to back, in this case running high on the bodyside. This helps break up the visual mass of the body and keeps the lean side glass from being overwhelmed visually. The front grille shares a family 'look and feel' with the Solstice and utilizes a similar, handsome, perforated metal pattern insert. Below this are split lower air intakes with the now familiar Pontiac wide set driving/fog lamps. The interior is dominated by a swoopy center console, which separates the four sculpted, individual bucket seats. Also prominent are the rear headrests , which are integrated into the rear seats like some open cockpit sports cars from the 1950’s. Black and Rust colored materials abound with some bright accents on the console, instrument panel and doors to denote areas with controls."

Hmmmm, I've gotta say that car is looking OK. It might make a better looking GTO than the real GTO!! I mean this car looks less GP/GA than the GTO does. It does look something like it though, *as all Pontiacs do, corporate styling * but the body except for the 4 doors has a muscular look, maybe moreso. It needs to be a little smaller maybe. What direction are they looking to take with this car??
