Poll of the week: What should set the high-end Camaro apart?
Poll of the week: What should set the high-end Camaro apart?
Just wanted to see what everybody thought should seperate the high-end Camaro appearance-wise from the base v6 and base v8 Camaros.
If other, post up with what you think.
Edit- You can select more than one if that's what you'd want to see.

a different hood, badge and fender flares sits lower, and feels in the wheel wells more appropriately. similar to the c6 vs. the c6 z06

You know, I completely took the hood/spoiler/wheels as a given. Sorry for not making those choices.
And Z28x, I said *appearance* differences. We already know we want a healthy V8

Good suggestion though.

. I like what AronZ28 said. A different hood, wheels, wider fenders, and front and rear fascia/bumpers would be a nice start. It has got to look different from every angle/side.

Re: Poll of the week: What should set the high-end Camaro apart?
I pretty much would agree with what Aron said too. Other than that, if it is going to be 69-ish and have the rear quarter gills, I'd like to see em' not be tacked on, but rather as funtional rear brake cooling, like the Z06! And, yeah the top model should look way different. Maybe some blacked out tail panels on the High HP ones ( like the old BB's) , and some rally stripes for then ZeeZ's.
Re: Poll of the week: What should set the high-end Camaro apart?
I think there should be some resembelence between cars in the family. V6 cars should a nice sporty look to them and the performance models should be a more muscular interpetation of the base car, and tastefully done.
1. Stance - that makes or breaks a car.
2. Differing front and rear fascia (again more muscular and less OE kombat body kit)
3. Screw the single exhaust (and I dont care for about exhaust velocity, packaging constraints, etc) FO'REAL FRICKEN DUAL EXHAUST ON THE DAMN CAR cause it just seems to sound and look better
4. Nicely done badging, again it doesn't need to scream "I got ballz and hair on my chest"
Then again, thats me. I like subtle far more than being able to pull double duty in both hotrod and super-rice magazine

Re: Poll of the week: What should set the high-end Camaro apart?
Most everything stated in this thread should be obvious for a higher end model but how about some exclusive paint schemes and/or colors.
Sort of like the SE 35th Anniversary SS's. Some racier more stand out paint and/or stripes that you could only get on the top model would be very cool to make it stand out. Maybe just 2 or 3 more colors with the option of stripes. I personally don’t like stripes but some would.

Re: Poll of the week: What should set the high-end Camaro apart?
You guys seem to be going with a cosmetic theme here guys, so I thought I'd take the "evolutionary" approach and look back at what the "high-end" Camaros got over the base Camaros in previous generations.
1st Gen:
SS - Special Hood with non-functional vents & badges optional special wheels
Z/28 - Runway Stripes & badges (no badges in 1967), special wheels and in 1969 the ZL-1 Hood was optional
2nd Gen:
SS - badges & optional wheels
Z/28 (early) - Runway Stripes & badges, special wheels
Z/28 (late) - Special hood, Stripes & badges, special wheels
3rd Gen:
Z/28 - Stripes (?), badges and special hood(?) (Not making a distinction between IROC and Z/28 here.)
4th Gen:
Z/28 - Badges only.
SS - Runway Stripes & badges, special hood and later special wheels.
So using the historical "evidence" of what has been done on past Camaros, the high-end Camaro (whatever its called) should follow tradition and at most include: (a) Runway Stripes and badges; (b) Optional Special hood (some sort of forced air-induction would be appropriate); and (c) Optional Special wheels.
Other than that, to give the high-end Camaro any other type of cosmetic distinction over the base model would break from the Camaro's tradition and heritage.
(I really wish you would have included a "None of the above" option in this poll.)
