Luts being the enthuist he is, he sin't going to make a 425hp vette

kinda like L98 ---> Lt1
Ls1----> Ls2? Ls2834? Ls98?

That mustang concept is honestly a total POS. They slaughtered a car that was already slaughtered to begin with. I don't know why the hell everyone is trying to go back to old blocky styling, and old interiors or what not. I like the Dodge Razor concept, thought about saving for it if it were to ever come out, which it won't. 16,000 for a 250hp/torque engine with a 6 speed and 0-60 in 5.9 seconds ain't bad, but hell, you know Dodge is too cheap for that.

Craziness
That looks nothing like any part of a 67-69 Camaro. I looks like a 4-door Chrysler. The thing SCREAMS Chrysler. Ugly. I have to leave now, though, because I think the new '05 stang will be my next new car.
Sorry, guys, but Chevrolet left us swinging in the wind, so I'm probably going to do the same to them.

Wow!
You don't see that kind of hardware on too often!
(Assuming that made it to production, which it probably wouldn't)Especially the 6-piston calipers!!!
All this stuff is just theoretical...hell its not even that, its just speculation, so no one is right or wrong. Some people may be way more off base than others, but crazy things DO happen in the automotive production world. With that said, I SPECULATE that the SS will be the body style and chassis which the next Camaro will be based. Its too big to be a C6, unless they do some major sizing reductions. I don't think that they would bring this in as a new car altogether because they really don't need to. If they need a 4-Door V8 sports car they would just drop a V8 in an Impala. I don't see any reason to bring back a Chevelle either, when their loyal Camaro enthusiasts are waiting impatiently for their next gen car. Chevelle enthusiasts are not expecting a next generation vehicle right now. The Chevelle was a great peice of automotive history, let it be for kriests sake
The Camaro was dropped from the Chevy line-up rather abruptly and totally out of reason. GM knows that if they don't bring back a Camaro, their going to loose a percentage of their market share. The fact that there was still a market for the Camaro (even just the Camaro name alone is going to sell something) and that their loyal enthusiasts will go elsewhere to find their new affordable V8 rear-wheel drive cars will be enough for them to badge the SS as a Camaro. If it loses 2 doors, then they just won me back as a customer.

I don't know, the SS pictures that I've seen just don't strike me as a Camaro. Yes, its a hatch, 2-door and all that good stuff, however I just don't get the feel of power. Maybe some kind of (non ricey) spoiler, tone down the vette cues make it more stream line, and a ram air hood would make it a more aggressive muscle car.

I definately get the same vibe from this car as I do the Camaro. Its got that 'dont fawk w/ me' look and just the overall same ora as the Camaro IMO.
I did a little messing around on mic. paint with this picture. It looks great if you extend the front end slightly, lower the car a little, reduce the side windows at the end a little, add a lip spoiler and a ram air hood.
well, I haven't posted in the past week as I;ve been busy at the Los Angeles show and also Detroit.
First...where the SS will be in terms of major autoshows: Detroit, St. Louis, Chicago, Cleveland, Minneapolis, and New York. (that's tentative.....)
Second: At Detroit and Chicago, there will also be an SS salon....vintage V8s, videos...etc. You will note that the videos capture the heritage of the SS...and YES, Camaro is captured in the videos.
Third: The SS Concept is NOT a Camaro replacement. (4 doors???) Now...with that said, the design was to capture the essence of SSs of past ... in a new design. You've heard me say it before and I will say it again.....please.....don't judge something by its picture. I've listened to many journalists over the past couple of days remark that the Cheyenne looks terrible in the pictures, yet looks great in person. ....so...come to one of the shows and then make your opinion.
Getting back to the Camaro replacement thing.....I think there are styling cues that remind you of Camaro.....not the entire car...but the taillamps are very reminiscent of the early 2nd gen. The Grille has the look of the late 4th gen...and perhaps the early 2nd gen RS. In my opinion, the car is great looking...but it is not a Camaro replacement and I don;'t think it adequately captures the "Camaro look." So....don't have a cow....you can be assured that when we do another Camaro, it will not be the SS concept car.
Do I think we should offer this car with some changes? You betcha! Will it happen? Don't know.
