Past Corvette Concept

I just found this today. I just found it curious. Does anyone know when this was made? Maybe when the picture was taken?

Dang it! Should've saved the picture.

It had bi-folding gull wing doors and looked a little like a highly modified 3rd gen vette on a 4th gen body. It had billboards behind it of pictures of it in various "poses" as well as some text.

It was designed in the GM design studios and had steel/aluminum body. Wheelbase of 96...inches I assume and power in excess of 400HP.

I wonder if I just saw something that hasn't been seen by too many people.

You're right, thats the Aerovette..one of the mid-engine concepts from the 70's. I don't remember if it was one w/ a rotary engine, I don't think this particular one was.

I'd be very careful since it is property of Digital Disney as they have this disclaimer on their site

The Aerovette was one of the 70's prototypes that was at one point powered by a rotary. GM experimented with 4 rotor (!) Wankels during that time.

The Aerovette came very close to becoming the production 1980 Corvette.

I thought all unprotected images on the net are fair game. Putting a disclaimer is pretty bogus.

Another picture
Again
And again

THIS is actually for a model kit, but it also has some info on it.

More info

Not sure how accurate either of those are.
