Over 50,000 2005 Mustangs ordered

Just read that an MCA email went out claiming over 50,000 2005 Mustang have been ordered so far (car isn't even shipping yet). Can someone else verify this, not that I don't trust MCA (Mustang Club of America).

That's a lot of Mustangs and a lot of the public hasn't even seen it yet

I wouldn't doubt it. The Mustang has always been a popular car.

That's more than Camaro yearly sales towards the end of the 4th gen run...lol, sad . To be fair though, this mustang is a new model, and along with a new model comes the new model hype and excitement.

Some great numbers. Even more impressive considering these people haven't even really seen or experienced the 05 upclose or test-driven the car yet. They'll easily sell their 180-200k target.

Speaking of sales, 04's are doing pretty well too.

It's already one of the top 5 coupes for the 2005MY and it hasn't even hit the pavement yet?

Ford dealers were taking orders for just a few hundred above invoice earlier this year.Compare that to Pontiac dealers and the GTO.

Ford is planning to create a Mustang craze.

Think 50,000 is alot now? Wait till you see the upcoming advertizing blitz.

I sell Ford's and I have 6 05 Stangs ordered already and a folder FULL of contacts that want to know when we have one hit the ground. I plan to make alot of money off this car. As far as them not being shiped yet, I have 2 of my ordered cars schedualed to be here on or around the 17th of this month. I really don't like the looks of them, but I'll just have to see one in person.

The sooner I can obliterate one at a stop light the better.

Does anyone else think the V6's don't look good at all?

It's a combination on boring hood, dull front bumper cover, ugly rims, 65-seriers light truck tires, and that gross green color.

Going to have to wait a year on that one. That's the one I want IF I can't get a special edition
