Ouch!!- Ford sales down 28% in June

http://money.cnn.com/2008/07/01/news...ion=2008070112
Ford Motor reported that its U.S. sales tumbled 28% in June, kicking off what could turn out to be the weakest month for auto sales in 16 years.
Ford, the No. 3 automaker in terms of U.S. sales, saw sales of its SUVs plunge by more than half and pickups and other trucks fell more than a third.
Even the so-called crossovers, a sign of strength in the light truck segment until recently, saw sales off 18% from a year earlier, as buyers went searching for more fuel efficient vehicles in the face of record $4 gas prices. But Ford apparently didn't have the car models buyers were looking for, as its car sales fell 12%.

car sales are going to be sh1tty until the gas prices settle and people can reevaluate theyre financials. Nobody is going to be buying up cars that theyre not sure theyll be able to afford 6 months from now

Mustang sales seem to be rebounding.

Last month sales were down 45%.

This month, it's only 15.

Fusion is still doing extremely well.

Its going to be a tough couple of months for ALL of the OEM's. I imagine that once the shock and awe of the gas prices subsides, the vehicle sales will stabilize. Ford is at least moving very quickly internally in order to cope with the change...Fiestas for everyone!!!!
