Other suggested reading....besides ACAR

Thought I'd start a thread mentioning other good books to pick up concerning the auto industry and auto design.

I recently got a copy of "Comeback: The Fall and Rise of the American Automobile Industry" CTFAROTAAI??? It's been mentioned here a couple of times. I'm only a few chapters in and I really feel the need to recommend it. It's a bit pricey ($23 paperback) at book stores and you won't find it on the shelves, but if you go to Amazon.com you can get it used for $5 including shipping.

I have not read "Car" by Mary something-or-other. It's supposed to be about the Taurus. That's next on my list.

Anyone have any other recommendations?

I read Car about the Taurus...I thought overall it was a good story, but someparts are drawn out and boring. It's funny because the central figure in the book is the Taurus program manager **** Landgraff and the author spends the whole book making him out as some gift from the gods that was leading the best team Ford has to build a car that could compete with the Camry, etc. In the end the car is released and fails..leading to everyone to resign, or be fired or demoted...

We see where the Taurus is now.
