Onstar to the rescue!
Six in Pontiac minivan survive 400-foot plunge.
A family of four and two friends can count their lucky stars, and the fact that they were all wearing seatbelts, for surviving a nearly 400-foot plunge down a Colorado mountain ravine.

Terri Garcia, in the meantime, was using the Onstar satellite feature of their SUV for the first time to call for help.
Guess it does come in handy in an emergency!

OnStar didn't save anyone in this instance. The other motorist obviously stopped after figuring out the minivan had went off the road. With-or-without OnStar, the six people in the minivan would have survived.
