the "notch" above the rear fender. that has the bottom of the glass go up on the rear window like on 1st gens. click here if i didnt explaint it well enough

I think it makes the car look much more muscular

Deal breaker for me is if they don't have an integral tonneau cover on the 'vert. I've said it all along but it was cemented over the weekend as we spent 28 hours on the road with intermittent rain.

My guess?

The 5th gen's styling is all but done if it's going to be a 2008.

As a first gen fan I can see what you're saying. However, as there was no "notch" after 1969, its not a deal breaker for me.

I just really dont want to see a retro car. It could be a total deal killer for me.

As long as its got Gen. IV design cues under the hood, I'll go either way on the notch. Just not sold on retro. but a few clues like that integrated into a new design would be cool.

There was a post made here by our Camaro resident insider back in 2002 I believe (just goes to show you how long things have been set with the car).

He indicated that there was a meeting on this very subject, and that T-tops would look pretty awkward, but would still be on it because it's ordered on something like 70% of Camaros.

The reason itwould look awkward is because it has rear side windows.

Hmm interesting. Depending on how it looks I'd order it. Im getting one regardless. When it comes out I want it with a 6 spd and a v8 and Im happy. Thats all I ask for and that it has some ummphhhh!!! I've been driving V6's now for 10 years. I hate it every time I get into our work truck at home with the 454 cause it makes me jealous

OMG, if they made this thing with a retro design like the mustang, words cannot describe how happy I would be.

Yes, but can you picture the GTO with T-Tops?? An upright C-pillar is needed to make T-Tops work. The only way they can work on a car with 1/4 panel windows is if they are executed similar to those of the mi-80s MonteCarlo.
