Okay guys here me out on this...

this is what is going to go down...

40th...2007 is the anniversary, and what will we see..the NAIAS debut of the new 2008 Camaro..PRODUCTION READY...

there will be 40 cars built for the media blitz and show, these will be 2007.5 and will be auctioned, raffled off whatever..GM HOT BUTTON.. to generate buzz for the new Camaro. And to keep pace with the 40th anniversary of having a 2007 Camaro..

2008 Regular production starts..AND the 100th birthday of GM...that is what will be a win win situation for GM and the Camaro..you dont take away from the Camaros 40th and you dont take away from GM's 100th for just one car.

If they go through the trouble to make (and test, certify, pass emissions, crash test, liscense, tittle, blah blah blah) 40 cars... why not just shoot for forty thousand and call it a profitable production run?

 

I doubt GM would delay production of a car just so as to coincide with their 100th birthday - nor should they. Every year without new product is a year in which GM loses market share and slips closer to bankruptcy. I think if Rick Wagoner is more focused on being around in '08 than planning the specifics of it.

thats what I am saying..the 2007.5 are the trial cars..special cars to give it the buzz, the hype that the Camaro is back..and it only being 40 cars..well it will be on the cover of every automag out there..its publicity and celebration..

2008 is when the real production would start..these 2007.5 would be test run of the line, taken to a place and given the once over for any defects or opps's that come around..as far as specialty and show room shine and sent out to PR firms for pics..then put out for sale as a PR stunt to generate the Camaro name..

and GTO when is it supposed to stop in 2007 right?? so it would be a 2008 along the same assembly line as Camaro..

Honestly, I'd like to see a full production run for '07, but if that doesn't happen, this is the next best thing.
