ok concept kings in here

See whenever I come on here I see that there is more or less the retro group and the non-retro group right?

Well what im saying is that we should have our best designing artist design a design, for both groups and all of us put in a point that we think should stand out i.e 2000 base 69 grille etc.
Just have our best minds from both groups participate in it so we have a concept for both groups to drool over.

Although I cannot create these dream cars with any ease I hope one of our guys from this board will volunteer
I will let it run rampant this thread I mean.
will check up every now and then

I'm willing to give the drawing a shot, once some people decide what they want the car to look like.

Reto look
Chevy SS look
CTS-V look

Though in youu thought of what you want it to look like (curvey, rounded) and some specific detials. I'm always doing 5th gen drawing, so give me some ideas.

P.S. I dont use some fancy 3D program, just old faction colored pencil. SO if your looking for that I'm not your man (I am learning the 3D program through, just not good enought to do a car)

Do you guys want:

Fender flars
hatch back 3rd-4th gen
trunk 1st-2nd gen
both like the vettes
17" wheels
18 and 19" wheels
graphics/stripes

what styles from previous gens do you want to see, what do you not want to see?

Fender flares are good, they imply muscle and strength. I also like a hatch, more for the profile it imparts than any practicality benefits. 17" wheels at a minimum, and no graphics/stripes.

IMO, I think the design evolution going from the 3rd gen to the LT1 4th gen was absolutely perfect. It carried over the substance of the design while also making it more modern. I think the 5th gen should be similarly evolutionary, rather than retro or a completely different design.

I'd like to see a 5th gen that has no hints at previous generations, but yet still looks like a Camaro. It shouldn't be that hard of a task, they've already done it in 1970, 1982, and 1993.

Anybody remember the good ole days of automotive design when people actually made cars with originality?

Retro is a curse on the automotive world that only seems to thrive in America.

Well, I wouldn't say that they did exactly that for the 93 model. It resembled a smoothed over 3rd gen. That said, I think that result was due to lack of funding than anything else.
