I like the rear end of the SS and the layout (RWD V8 2+2). But I'm not keen on the SSR-ish front clip. I just am not a fan of "fat-fender hot rods" in general. I like the looks of the Pontiac concept a lot better... but it needs a V8!

Yeah, I always liked my hot-rods fender-free.

Thumbs up

They all look pretty amazing. All the interiors look excellent, and if they have the guts to produce the SS (no doubt the bulges will be toned down, but hopefully not too much) it will have the same design impact the Intrepid did when it was first introduced. Especially parked along Impalas & Monte Carlos.

This is the same company that just a couple of years ago I was harsh on for ignoring passenger cars for trucks, so I'm probally a bit more excited about this than I should be.

Question...

What platforms would the G6 and the SS be built on? Since there are supposed to be releasing production vehicles at this show?
The SS would be Sigma I assume?
The G6? The new Grand Am?
And also, with using the title G6, on this car, what does this say about a Grand Prix G8? If they want to use this "G" labelling on Pontiac, "G6," "G8," "G-Force," "GTO." Is the "G" Pontiacs "SS"? If they make a G6, and there was talk before about making a G8 after the reskinning of the Grand Prix, is this a hint there will be a Grand Am G6 with a Grand Prix G8, being sold along side a GTO?

Wonder if the G6 and SS have something to do with the next Grand Am and Malibu? They said they are makeing them bigger and more upscale.

I think the scetches over-exagerate the flared fenders. Personally I love the beefy look of flared fenders and Im sure the show car will most likely be done in a tasteful manner.

just check out the Rx-8, Mazda did a nice job with the flared wheel wells without over doing it. The biggest short coming I have with the Mazda Rx-8 is it has a small mouth like front grill that makes it look like a fish.

Here's a picture of the front of the RX-8 @ http://www.fasterfords.com/mazda/pic...x8/lst_126.jpg

The front SS and the RX8 look so much alike.
