rival..
http://www.conceptarchive.com/absolu...?categoryid=28

look at that and imagine a nice hartop version.

..now look at the 300C

http://www.allpar.com/cars/300c-chrysler.html

Like a nice big RWD sedan and coupe could not sell...the Bel Air would fit in where the 300 lacks..2 doors..and it will sell..just like the 300C and the Magnum..
the BIG RWD "AMERICAN" sedan is making a huge comeback!!

Bel air with some production changes should be on the sales floor!!

The BelAir looks a lot more like Thunderbird than anything to me. It is much more retro, even in the interior styling. I know it's just a concept, but the production Mustang has many things brought over from the concept, including a retro interior.

This shape is a little too risky, IMO, and has the danger of following the path of PT Cruiser, Beetle and Thunderbird - great first sales, but what about the long run?

* Amphicar styling
* Truck chassis
* Inline 5
* 4x4 stance

Whatever the Bel Air could have been......a 300C competitor is NOT it.

I think the Bel Air is one of the WORST GM concepts they have done in the last several years. And yes, I saw it in person.

I never liked the Bel Air concept. From the rear, it almost looks like the SSR. I dont think it looks anything like the Tri-5's of old. It doesnt have the lines, the flare, the style that the true Bel Air has. Interior is bland, and I dont think this would be all too good a car to put up against the 300. Part of the flare that is the 300 is that it looks like an expensive car, and the Bel Air does not have this style.

and it has a turbo inline 5, which IMO, is the wrong engine. It was born with a small block, it should come back witha small block.

If the 5th gen Camaro has any retro styling, Id expect that Bel Air grill to be on it.

The Bel Air looks like turds. It is nothing more than a rectangle with rounded corners.

Whoa - I've never seen that concept before...... UGLY.

I had a mental picture of Boyd Coddington's "Junkyard Dog" in my head when I clicked the link...

Boy was I sadly dissappointed.

And, remember boys & girls, THIS CONCEPT supposedly was testing styling themes for the 5th Gen Camaro.

Front end treatment mostly, and other than headlight tweaks I think it looks pretty good. I have a feeling ( ) that has been corrected...

I gotta be honest, there is nothing about that front end (or the rest of the car for that matter) that says "Camaro!" to me.

If anything, the front end says "Malibu!"...

What if it had more rounded headlights, an opening in the lower facia (as in all the ther gens), and sat about 6-8" lower to the ground?
