non-symetrical seating?

i was thinking about this today. setting the front passenger's seat a little back so it is easier for the driver to see. or just odd non symmetrical seating of other seats in an SUV, would this extreme be badly seen by consumers? do you think they would go for something that radical?

Re: non-symetrical seating?

i've always wondered about asymmetry on any aspect of a car (like a sloping up from the left to the right of the front of the car)
i think the general public would think it was just plain weird, jmho

I wouldnt want to be in that seat... I love being close to the front... I gotta have both feet on the ground curved up... and they gotta be w/ bent knees...

Re: non-symetrical seating?

I'm sure at some point in the future practicality will over take symetry at least in some car genres... but that may not be anytime soon.

Another thing to consider is assuming someone can afford two new cars, would you really want to have a radical adjustment each time you switched?

well, actually, now that i think about it...the c6 isn't symmetrical on the interior
i believe the door panels and a little bit different (which makes it more practical for the driver i believe)

Can't you just put the passesger side seat back a little and have asymetrical seating?
