Nobody noticed this?!.......

I was looking for something else when I found out in July, Charger passed Grand Prix in total sales this year!

Grand Prix (which still had incentives last time I checked) sold 62,813 this calendar year so far. Sales are down a mere 2%, so this is GP's normal sales level.

BUT.. Charger (which has yet to have any incentives outside of Chrysler financing) sold 67,079 this year so far.

In the old Buick Lucerne vs Chrysler 300 competition:

Lucerne: 9983 for July, 57,106 for the year.
The 300: 10,637 for July, 86,187 for the year.

If anyone was curious about Solstice, it sold just 40 fewer cars than GTO in July (1342 vs 1373) but has outsold GTO 2 to 1 for the year (12,888 6,910)

Caliber's another Chrysler home run. 50,000 sold so far. Even though it's been out just a few months, it's already outsold the entire year's total of the Durango & Dakota, and is only behind the HHR entire year total by 16,000.

Pretty impressive.

Maybe no incentives, but dodge has had the Employee Pricing Plus going on since I think the first week of July.

That's what I was going to say.

I'm just glad GM stayed away from the employee pricing again. On a side note, just saw that a Ford dealership is giving a Focus away with each F series truck they sell. Bad times for Ford I guess.

Is that a US figure, or North American total? Keep in mind, Solstice is available in Canada (and I've been seeing lots around) whereas GTO is NOT available up here. I'd think the total #'s would look different if GTO had the Canadian market as well?

is the solstice still trying to ramp up to demand? I know for awhile it was tough to even find one on the lot. I guess people maybe waiting for the GXP solstice at the end of this year.

Re: Nobody noticed this?!.......

People love the Caliber, and to be honest, I have no idea why. For the $$, the PT Cruiser is superior IMO, albeit not as fresh looking.

No surprise they've sold that many...I've only had 5 all year, and you can't get the damn things! No surprise they've outsold the Dakota and Durango as well...the Durango is still kinda ugly in the front (and gas prices haven't made the face prettier), while the Dakota is so overpriced, its barely cheaper than the Ram!! You NEED big incentives on that truck to make it move!

I call the Caliber "Aztec Jr.". It is not only "not cute" but flat out ugly IMO.

Of course it isn't cute. Dodge plays on that big time.

Ever see that "consumer clinic" commercial of the Caliber? The one where that cute fuzzy toy animal says "frankly...it scares the s**t outta me!", and the execs watching from behind the one way glass says "Perfect! That's exactly what we're after!".

I love that commercial.

I haven't seen that one yet I like the print ad where the Caliber is sitting on the copy machine, copying its theoretical a**
