No 2004 Lightning/ Harley Ford goes Super Duty
This means Dodge SRT10 will be the meanest truck on the planet for 2004. There will be no 2004 Lightning, and Silverado SS.....well....

However, with the launch of the redesigned F-150 and Ford's decision to shelve boutique editions of that truck until 2005 model year (which means a redesigned F-150 SVT Lightning comes in 2005),

from thecarconnection.com - "Next Harley Ford to be an F-250
Ford said in a brief release on Monday that the next iteration of its Harley-Davidson pickup would be moving up a size class. The ’04 Harley F-Series will be based on the company’s super-duty F-250 truck platform, rather than the F-150 that underpinned the first Harley trucks. The new Harley machine, due out this fall, also will feature Ford’s new 6.0-liter turbocharged Power Stroke V-8. Pricing hasn’t been announced."

I think that move to the diesal isn't a smart one. That's going to kill the performance potential that would otherwise be had with the Lightning motor.

The F150 Harley truck will be back for 2005. Ford didn't want to add all the boutique trucks for 2004 to make sure the launch goes smoothly. They still have to pay Harley royalties for using the name, so they might as well have a truck. Now, I don't know if the F250 Harley will also be made along side the F150 based one for 2005. I think it would be cool if they did though. Just like you can get the Kings Ranch package in the SuperDuties now also (they also will not be available in the F150's for '04).
Expect to see the '05 Lightning released at the beginning of 2004 (an early '05). The SRT-10 is only slated to begin production at the end of this year (target time is Xmas........ if they get their problems worked out), so Ford will not want the new Lightning to lag very far behind it.
The Silverado SS carries on for the '04 model year the same as the '03's. The only difference I have heard is maybe a few more options. No word on any standard cab version, and the '04 pilot trucks have already been run. This comes from a person who works the line they are built on.

If so, I was wondering if you had heard of any feedback sessions or received questionaires from SVT concerning the '05 L yet?

Yes we bought it new April 6, 2001 with 7 miles on the odo.
We did the online questionaire about the '05 Lightning. I was the original owner of my '94 Lightning, so I was able to do one also (both me and Rick did).
