Re: Next Monaro made in North America.

Will it be made in Canada...or in America, OR Mexico?

OR...who is to say Zeta will not be produced in all three different regions of N.A.?

Remember, there's lots of capacity in the United States. Two plants alone that I can think of right off the top of my head.

Lots of questions, so very few answers

Considering that the first GTO I ever saw had a passenger side door that was misalligned, not to mention paint quality that couldn't match a $20K Toyota RAV-4, Australian "quality" is something that should be lost permanently.

Combine the rising strength of the Aussie dollar (versus the falling U.S. dollar) with the long anticipated FTA, and the business case for an American assembled Monaro/GTO is only getting stronger in recent months.

Extend that reasoning to the entire Zeta-platform, and the closure of Holden's Fisherman's Bend plant in favor of a U.S. location could be a very real possibility if the decline of the U.S. dollar isn't checked. For instance, the Wilmington, Delaware plant will soon have about 2-times as much RWD manufacturing capacity as all of GM of Australia.

You should be able to get a 04 GTO for invoice before the $3500 rebate so should be able to get one for around $27,000. That way you could get a GTO for the same price of a 05 Mustang GT but get a car that more rare and has an extra 50HP.

If the optional hoodscoops on the GTO non-functional then don't bother wasting your money on them IMHO

According to the reviews of the Monaro they are blocked by rubber plugs that can be removed. They will only cool the engine bay.

What exterior options will there be other than the hood for '05? recessed grills? Are they still offering the autocross body kit?

Not many no what is going on and if they really know they CAN'T say a thing!
I hope I'm wrong, but I really can't see Chevy selling three V-8 rear drive coupes (Corvette, Camaro and Chevelle?) in this day and age. The only person I have spoken with from Chevrolet (in person) told me that there would not be, under any circumstances, a return of Camaro, but that there would be a new V-8 rear drive coupe. When I said "Chevelle?" he just smiled. Please take all this with a HUGE grain of salt.

From Pontiac, there's the grille insets, ground effects, rear bumper cover (that looks far worse than the good looking, restyled standard ones), a carbon fiber interior trim set, and rims.

HSV parts should be available during the model year.

Aww hell, the Mustang has been clad with fake hood scoops and brake cooling ducts for years. The new Mustang includes the cheesy faux gas filler cap in the back (why? The car isn't retro right?)

exactly, but dont say anything against the almighty Mustang. The new Mustang is a modern design with ground breaking performance, dont you know that by now?
