Next Chrysler Sebring sedan replacement likely to be built by Nissan

The Dodge Hornet was first. It will be based on the Nissan Versa, and will be out in a little over a year from now (as a 2010 model). At the same time, Nissan will get a redesigned Dodge Ram as their new Titan as a 2011 model.

Currently, Chrysler is in final negotiations to apply the same formula to the Nissan Maxima as the Chrysler Sebring's replacement. Like the Hornet, he design work will be done by Chrysler and the production vehicle will be adapted to a Nissan architecture (although the article attached below indicates the car will simply be a Maxima with Chrysler badges, this is not accurate... it will be a Chrysler design).

Chrysler has been buying automatic transmissions from JATCO (owned by Nissan) since 2004.

What Nissan is that at the top of the article? It's not the current U.S. Altima or Maxima. It must be another Nissan model that isn't sold in the U.S. Or a foreign market Altima or Maxima.
I think the Sebring showed lower in the article looks better than that Nissan.

And if this deal goes thru, what happens to SHAP (Sterling Heights Assembly Plant), where the current Avengers and Sebrings are built?

You've got to be kidding! Nissan is the king of quirky/ugly design!
