I personally think the integrated spoiler, and later the SS spoiler, were two of the coolest enhancements of the 4th Gen, along with the mirrors.

Did you also like the body openings where the mirrors and panel met?? And what was with those lines going across the roof of the 4ths??

the tall spoilers from the late 3rd Gen Z28's were just plain ridiculous looking.

I didn't like them much either and always liked the early Z28/IROC-Z28 spoiler. But it still looked better than that spoiler on the 4ths IMO.

No more intergrated spoiler, GFX, mirrors, and plain designs. They need fender/wheel flares on the next Gen and distinct lines blended with fluid looks. Every Gen had these but the 4th and it just didn't look right IMO, like a regular car or something.

I definetly agree with the interior quality comments made. These cars need better interors to succeed. And they need to be cool looking and not so plain next time. Who wants their Camaro to have an int. like every other GM car?? It seems throughout the mid-later 90's too many GM/Chevrolet cars had a too similar look inside. And lets bring back being able to see your hood again and a windshield that is not so angled.
The best part of the F4 was the well integrated design features. Spoilers are great, but the wing on the rear of a 1991 Z28 looked like a bad aftermarket job. Similarly, the decals and stripes that afflicted the Camaro from the mid-1970s onward were just plain tacky.

I also think the sharply raked windshield was a great idea at the time. The slightly distorted forward view of the road ahead lets you know you aren't in normal car.

Oddly enough, over-the-top interior styling does just the opposite. The simple dash design of the post-1997 Camaro was great. The driving experience alone was enough to set it apart from other cars.

LOL, since I disagree with you on nearly everything so much I think I'll just not respond. I know I'm not alone though.

But, I do have to say, that 82-84 Z28 and 85-90 IROC-Z stripes were great. They don't look as good without them IMO. Musclecars have had some kind of striping since basically the start. I even think the stripes on some M*****g GT's make them look cooler and distinctive.

Im not flaming you, because your intitled to your own opinion, but I think that the 91-92 Z28 were some of the best looking camaros out there... if you notice, that one and the later SS spoiler(98-02) actually resemble one another alot... I transformed my 86IrocZ to look like an 92Z because of the cooler ground effects, cooler hood louvers and kick *** wing.

just remember the camaro is a muscle car. not a sports car. the 4th gens are too swoopy and pointy for my taste. i like them, but in my opinion if i was to rate the body styles, for me it would be 1st gen, 3rd gen, 4th gen, 2nd gen. i never really was really a big 2nd gen fan, i like the 2nd gen firebirds much more. but they have to have the spoiler, i think they look wierd without it. but im getting off subject. i think the new camaro should be a bit boxy and square, tuff muscular. leave the sprotiness to the vette, thats what its there for. i think heave cues from the 1st gen and some from the 3rd gen mixed with new. but dont give us a "chick car" no offense to the women out there.

Your car will be at Pontiac in about a year. If you can't wait, you can see it out here in LA starting January 3rd. It's called GTO.

BTW, if you want to see what the Mustang fastback looks like, they have various posts on www.blueovalnews.com in the Mustang forums with links to cars based off the actual Musatng stampings.
