What do you think the C7 should be in terms of exterior styling?
Should it evolve much like the C5 followed the C4 and the C6 followed the C5?
Or should it be revolutionary, taking on a more futuristic shape?
Lastly, who thinks it should go even more retro than the C6?

 

It should definatly be an all new design.

As for the C6 being a bit retro, I don't think so (other than the headlights).

 

There are plenty of heritage cues on the C6, but it is not retro.

I think for C7 it should be a lot more different of a design than the C6 was from the C5, or C5 from the C4...but what Chevy needs to remember is that the Corvette is an American car, it needs to remain distinctly American looking and driving.

 

It should preceed the C8

 

Yeah, screw all the allowances for European drivers. They can have it if they want it, but don't let some of the functionality, style, and size be dictated by a couple of hundred exports.

That said....make the front end look like a Corvette, lose all the black trim on the door handles, and spoiler, in fact, lose the spoiler. If you want a metal look in the inside, use metal, not silver painted plastic. They tried it in 1990, and it s*cked then too. Do something w/ the headlights so that they can be a retractable style, but maybe when they are on, they sit down flush in the body somehow. The current style is commonplace, and looks like any number of imports. Smooth out the roof, the inverted power dome look extending from the hood is silly. Get red carpet to match the red interior.

As for styling, keep all the themes, but modern, just as the C6 did. The basic shape has been in place now for 40+ years, much like the 911, it still works, just keep it fresh.

well, basically, people have seen the c6 and most have either grown to like it or not (on here atleast where we have seen the pics for awhile and have now seen some on the road)
and basically, it's been evolving slowly (imo) from the c4
i was just wondering where people stand on its style
it's never to early to think ahead

 

I think it should evolve from what it is now and what the C6. Better here and there and everywhere. But nothing 'revolutionary.'

Just really good at EVERYthing.

 

The only real thing I would change would be the headlights, they look wierd, like a "Hotwheels" toy car. Come up with an inovative hide-away set-up, something different and cool.

 

The '63 split window is my favorite.

 

I'm just hoping that the C7 comes sooner rather than later.

The current C6 has the looks of a dud - unlike the late, great C5.

 

Saying the C5 was great and the C6 is a dud is total 1st grader nonsense.

Take the styling away, because it's subjective, and you have a C6 that is based on the "late great" C5, and IMPROVES it in every conceivable fashion.

 

Corvettes ALWAYS have evolutionary styling.

It's the mark of the breed.

First and foremost, a Corvette must be recognized as a Corvette at the first glance. It's the #1 requirement for the entire vehicle.
