"In a reversal of course, Ford Motor Co. will not use the new global C1 compact car platform for the North American Focus until at least 2007. While the rest of the world will get a redesigned C1-based Focus next year, North America may never get the vehicle, executives have confirmed"

The new focus now looks like 300 other small hatchbacks that Europe has. They moved totaly away from the whole "new edge" design theme, but that doesn't surprise me since no other Ford car utilizes that design language anymore.

I like the new look. A lot cleaner and smoother.
Why disregard the U.S market?
. I guess the rest of the world is more deserving of better cars than we do. Speaking of which...Is the Turbo Focus RS or a Cosworth version ever hitting U.S soil?
but it looks so pretty! why wouldn't they sell it in the US?
maybe they figure to make it more upscale and fear they wouldn't move enough of them here? considering we associate Ford with bottom of the barel and would never imagine paying decent money for one. oh.
I saw a car like that on a freeway a while ago. It was going the other way, so i didnt wee it perfectly well but from the second i did look at it, it looked like a rounded focus...kind of like this. I dont think that the front it that bad, but i dont like that back much at all.
If cost is an issue, why not sell them side by side. That way people that want to spend the extra $$ and want to newer, better, and larger focus can buy this one, and those looking for a cheaper alternative have the option of going with the current one.
