It was a pretty amusing commercial in my opinion. What I find more interesting is that there are Mustang commercials. I'm not sure if the commercials add even 1 Mustang sale over what they would have without any.

 

They will be getting competition from many different ends, not just GM.

 

They know this, and I think that is why they are running that particular ad now.

 

Yep. They've got about 9 more months to laugh it up.

 

and 9 more months to amortize the costs of of S-197 as well as figure out what to do in the face of the competition. IIRC, Ford expected to sell less than 100k units when the 05 hit, its been doing pleasntly well since then.

Hopefully when competition shows up, they will deliver on a 370hp engine,Which I figure will only be about 20-25hp short on power (thats if F5 comes in around GTO weight and gets a 425hp V8) and that ain't to bad a place to be, especially if it follows standard Ford procedure with a timing map that would allow nitroglycerin to burn without creating some knock.

Then again this proposed 370hp 5.0 might actually require premium fuel.
